Q1: What role do you think goals might play in a
company’s planning for any possible pandemic outbreak? List down some goals
that you think might will be important.
Goals are very important for every organization and on the
other hand planning is the sub part of goals that achieve the desired outcomes
on the behalf of effective planning. The second name of goal we called those
objectives. Goals guide over all management decision and refer the proper work
method for organization members without goals without planning there is no
direction of work for employees and managers so at the end planning plays very
important and effective role for achieving the optimal desired outcomes.
Q2: What type of plans might companies need for this
situation (for instance short term ,long term or both ) Explain why you think
these plans are important in this situation ?
Strategic plans are long term plans that those are developed
by the top management and on the other hand operational plans are short term
plans those are specific and reliable. In this situation the Government and
health officials meet to time for long term and short term planning. Without
planning, the Department and individuals might work at cross-purpose and stop
the organization from moving efficient towards its goals and objectives,
planning also reduce uncertainty by forcing managers to look forwarded. Planning
develop the goals that used in controlling.
Q3: Being a manager what planning tools would you
recommend to deal with this type of situation effectively?
There are so many types of tools which are used in planning
for instance, environment analysis and environment, scanning, competitor intelligence,
forecasting and benchmark. In this situation I think benchmarking is the best tool
with this type of situation effectively and efficient. The good idea behind the benchmarking is that
we can improve and evaluate the performance and coping the method of leaders in
various fields. As in this situation Asian and particularly South Asian
countries had planned. According to survey 80 corporate nearly every company
had someone in charge of such catastrophic situation and most of them had
clearly mapped out plans that could be implemented immediately in such a crisis
situation. So we can improve performance by analyzing and copying the method.
